The Clerk of Session is an ordained Elder who maintains the corporate records of the church, including minutes of Session meetings; membership rolls; records of baptisms, weddings, deaths, memorial services and funerals; worship attendance; rolls of Elders, Deacons and communicants; records of communion; and preservation of the church's historical records. When the pastor is unavailable, the Clerk of Session is the congregation's next contact. |

The Session consists of the pastor or co-pastors, associate pastors and ordained Elders, who are responsible for the mission and government of the church and conduct the business of the church according to the Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Duties of
the Board of Deacons includes preparation of communion elements and the
communion table, arrangements for baptism, visitation of shut-ins,
delivery of sermon/worship tapes to shut-ins, establishing contact and
relationships with confirmands, sharing joys and concerns by sending
greeting cards to church members, soliciting school supply donations to
assist families at the beginning of the school year, assisting with
decorating the church at Christmas, filling the Kerry candles in the
church sanctuary, watering plants. A Deacon's offering is taken at
each service where communion is held. Donations to the Deacons are
used to purchase flowers for confirmands; altar flower for baptisms;
cradle cross, baptismal towel and blankets; palms for Palm Sunday;
Christmas gifts for shut-ins; care packages for college students; greeting
cards; booklets; Care Notes; emergency needs as relayed by the pastor;
miscellaneous donations throughout the year, such as for youth programs,
Kids Against Hunger, etc. |
